1. About Us
Heat Pump Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website heatpumpaustralia.com, an online comparison and installer-matching service for heat pump hot water systems. We are based in Victoria, Australia.
You can contact us at: hello@heatpumpaustralia.com
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
3. Nature of Our Service
Heat Pump Australia is a comparison and referral service only. We are not a heat pump installer, retailer, or manufacturer. We do not install, supply, or warrant any products or services.
When you submit a quote request through this website, we pass your contact details to one locally-based, CEC-accredited installer in your area. That installer is a third party and is solely responsible for any quotes, products, installation work, warranties, and after-sales service they provide to you.
We do not guarantee that an installer will be available in your area, that you will receive a quote, or that any quote will meet your requirements.
4. Savings Estimates & Rebate Information
All savings estimates, payback period calculations, and energy cost comparisons provided on this website are indicative only. They are based on typical household usage patterns, published tariff rates, and representative system performance data. Your actual results will vary depending on your household size, usage habits, local energy tariffs, system selection, and installation quality.
Rebate and incentive information (including Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs), Solar Victoria rebates, and other state/territory schemes) is provided for general guidance only. Rebate values, eligibility criteria, and availability change frequently. We do not guarantee the accuracy or currency of this information.
Always verify current rebate eligibility, values, and application requirements directly with the relevant government authority, the Clean Energy Regulator, or your installer before making any purchasing decision.
STC spot prices fluctuate with market conditions and are not within our control or knowledge at the time of any estimate.
5. No Professional Advice
Nothing on this website constitutes financial, legal, engineering, or professional advice of any kind. The information provided is for general informational purposes only. You should obtain independent professional advice before making any significant purchasing or financial decision.
6. Your Responsibilities
When using this website and submitting a quote request, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information in any form you submit.
- Not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent requests.
- Use the website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
- Not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the website or its underlying systems.
- Not reproduce, scrape, or redistribute content from this website without our written permission.
7. Third-Party Installers
We take reasonable steps to work only with CEC-accredited installers; however, we make no representation or warranty as to the quality, safety, licensing, insurance, or workmanship of any third-party installer. Any contract for installation services is solely between you and the installer. We are not a party to that agreement and accept no liability in connection with it.
If you have a complaint about an installer, please contact the installer directly. You may also contact the Clean Energy Council or your state’s consumer affairs body.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, data, and code — is owned by or licensed to Heat Pump Australia and is protected by Australian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent, except as permitted by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law), Heat Pump Australia excludes all liability for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of this website, reliance on information published on it, or any interaction with a third-party installer.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law (for example, under guarantees implied by the Australian Consumer Law), our liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having the service re-supplied.
10. Privacy
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia.
